October 6, 2013

Dear Fellow St. Chadians:

A journey of just over two years is finally coming to an end. We start with an agreement in June 2011 when as a congregation we voted to vacate our home known as the Assiniboia Christian Centre Inc. often referred to as the ACC. The negotiations were at times cumbersome, slow and very frustrating. However, by keeping our focus of accomplishing what was best for the common good of all, a decision has been reached and we are moving as of October 31, 2013. Our new location will be at the Kirkfield Park United Church located at the corner of McBey Ave. and Kirkfield St. Some of you may recall that St. Chad started at Lincoln School and we now will be just a block away from there.

We hope that everyone will join with us in this new endeavour with joyful anticipation. Throughout this process we feel that we have remained a truly strong congregation and have not lost our ability to care for one another and extend that to others outside our own community. For this we wish to express our gratitude and thanks. Let us continue our journey, whatever we make it, with the same enthusiasm that has followed us up to now.

Our last service at the ACC will be October 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. The choir would very happy to have former choir members join them for this service. If you are interested please contact the Music Director for details.

Our first service at our new location will be at 9:00 A.M. November 3, 2013. We know this time will not be ideal for a few people, and invite you to consider the BAS services on Thursdays at 11:30  A.M.  as an alternative. If you so wish, bring along a bag lunch for the Thursday service and join in the fellowship thereafter.

A service acknowledging our ecumenical relationship with Blessed John XXIII will be held at 7:00 P.M. on November 2, 2013. Both Bishop Phillips and Archbishop Weisgerber will be in attendance.

We will be busy packing and unpacking over the next few weeks but should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact Susan or the wardens.

Yours in Christ.

Rev. Dr. Susan Titterington and Wardens
